MY DESIGN IDEAS FOR THE SPACE

Dear Larches,

With the current state of your entrance area I have a few suggestions into making it more user friendly; by making your way point more visible while intergrading your branding colours, this will make everything more cohesive and visibly easier to navigate.

Firstly I would make the brick wall with the reception window the same colour as the floor as it is very similar to the duck egg/mint green colour you have on your new branding, this will allow the users eyes to travel from the floor on entry to where they need to be. The window hatch trimmings on the brick wall should be white so that it catches the eyes on entry and visibly makes the waypoint and that particular reception area the main focal point of where the user needs to go first.

Getting rid of the blinds on the windows will also allow complete light to enter the space, keeping the rest of the walls white will keep the room clean and also draw more attention to the reception waypoint.

Lastly changing the colour of the chairs upholstery to a navy blue to keep the branding consistent and putting them slightly on an angle to make the room look less clinical, softer and more approachable.

Let me know how it looks when you’re finished!

Kind Regards,

Ellen Mitchell

Email Review from client

'At the first consultation the school explained what we had, what we needed to keep and what we needed from the area and we are absolutely delighted with the result. Ellen has made an inviting and welcoming space for our visitors, creating a more professional area and ambience from what could only be described as a dull and old fashioned entrance for anybody coming into the school. It is so important to portray the School’s ethos and the new Reception area helps us do this. The project design exceeded expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend Ellen Mitchell Design'
